Nail art made EASY!

In my September Birchbox were these metallic gold, pink and black leopard print nail polish stickers by Incoco. They retail at $7.99-$10.99. I've seen Sally Hansen's version of these, which run about $10, in the drugstores but have been wary of if they would live up to all their hype.
I followed the directions that came with the Incoco nail polish stickers and was very surprised at how fast and easy these went on. All you need for an instant nail art are the stickers and a nail file. As a last step, not included in the directions, I placed a layer of clear protective coat on top with hopes that it will help them stay on longer. It took about 7min to put them on, which I thought was great for a first timer. The one feature I truly liked was if you placed the sticker slightly off you could peel it up and move it accordingly. Both brands offer a large variety in colors, patterns and straight up glitter. These are great if you don't have time to go to get your nails done or you need something fun and fashionable in you life fast!
I think I might have fallen in love. They are truly cute! I have to get my paws on Sally Hansen's Halloween prints. I will report back with how long they last.

A little late but....September Birchbox

I was so excited when my September Birchbox came in. Inside I was presently surprise not only with what was in it but the packaging and use of Birchbox's pink color that can be found in their logo on the outside of the box, the tissue paper everything is wrapped in and the ink used on the product information card.
Included in the September Birchbox was:
-A friendship bracelet to celebrate Birchbox's one year anniversary. It's totally cute.
-Mascara by blinc
-Leopard print nail polish applique by Incoco
-Lip enhances by Jouer
-"Natural" perfume by LIV GRN
-Lash card

Just a lil of my jewelry collection.

I've worked with jewelry and accessories for the past 5 years so my collection is always growing. I found this great jewelry box at a thrift store for only $5. I love using the doors for earrings and necklaces. And of course all the drawers are completely full! I truly believe you can never have enough accessories.

Rat/mouse bracelet

In my last post I talked about how I loved to shop on eBay. Well I bought this last week and was totally surprised when it came in. In the auction it said that the bracelet was by Betsey Johnson and it came with her tag attached to it. Yet on closer inspection I realized it actually says on the clasp that its made by "Marc by Marc Jacobs". A total surprise but now I love it even more. Just goes to show things aren't always what they seem lol.

DIY skeleton hand earrings

I am crazy about jewelry. I love shopping online for crazy things you cant find in stores. The main place I get this fix is on ebay. I can truly say I am addicted to ebay shopping. Recently I found these skeleton hand earrings on ebay for only $4 and had to buy them. I loved them as they were but really wanted them to be gold. Sooooo a DIY project came up! This was a truly simple DIY project that took about 10min.

These earrings are shinier in person. I used a metallic spray paint I had on hand that I used for other projects to cover the earrings. Instead of spraying them with the spray paint I sprayed some onto a piece of cardboard and painted them with it. This way I was able to get into all the bends of the fingers. I put two coats on and allowed for enough drying time in between. The great thing about spray paint is that it normally dries really fast.

RAW Launch Party

"Raw is frustrated fashion.
RAW is blind; nagging and pulling on threads.
RAW is coloring selfish pride with determination."- from RAW's website

Kolby's launch party was amazing! I am so proud of him. I went with my friends Beena and Jessica. We all happened to be clad all in black but whats new there. I unfortunately didn't have time to snap a photo of myself in my outfit because I was running late. I wore black wedge booties with black leggings and a huge overside black sheer button up with rolled up sleeves. I had my favorite necklace on, my gold "time turner", lots and lots of gold bangles, a long skinny gold snake skin clutch and bright red lips. I used my hair extensions and had a long side fishtail braid. (I was pleasantly surprised when Kolby told me a few days later at work that I was on his top well dress list for his event. :) you know that made me warm and fuzzy inside!) Everyone else there was dressed to impress too. We arrived around 9:30pm at Kolby's place, a very spacious studio apartment, there was a verity of finger foods and of course beverages, it was nice how they were set up, similar to a make your own cocktail bar. A nice touch was a large piece of paper where you could sign your name, say congratulations or doodle if you cared to. But what I really want to talk about is the RAW clothes! When you walked into Kolby's apartment there was no RAW clothing on display except the few who already owned pieces and where sporting them at the event. Kolby gave a speech about what RAW is and thanking everyone (which i have on video on my phone but cant get it to my computer, will try and fix this soon), and then two huge closets next to each other were opened where inside RAW was displayed. On the right was the RAW women's line and on the left the RAW men's line.

RAW women's line:
(Shredded jeans, cross t-shirt shredded in front, bleached cozy)

(skulls, lightbulbs, crosses, mannequin parts and pearls add to the over all affect)

(close up, kinda blurry)
(crazy awesome gloves)

First off, notice the beautiful young lady wearing a RAW gown sitting in front of a mirror. I didnt see her at first when the doors opened. I love the idea of a live mannequin in a display. She was brushing her hair with a mannequin hand. LOVE IT! When looking at the clothes I can imagine any type of woman; size, shape and age wearing any of these pieces. Thats what I love about RAW, anyone can wear it! I am not a fan of clothing lines that are directed to a specific type of person. It's aggravating because most women in America aren't the typical women they target. It usually leaves me crying out, "hey you forgot about this lady". The pieces for women can easily be worn with anything to anywhere. Throw on a shredded shirt with a pair of leggings or jeans for a causal look or go all out with one of the gowns.

RAW men's line:

(bleached pants, cut off white button up)

(shredded over sized shirt, nail necklace)

(great use of props, another nail necklace)

(love the added books, bag and rope)

When I think of men's fashion if its not blue jeans and a t-shirt, something easy to throw on, I wouldn't imagine most men wearing it but RAW incubuses not only fashionable men but also men who don't give two cents about what they put on. There are very basic pieces and then elaborate ones. Kolby created necklaces out of large industrial nails (about 6 inches long) that are fantastic. They look very manly but also can be worn by women.
Many of the pieces in fact from the men's and women's line can be swapped in between. These pieces are perfect for everyone. Not only are there shredded shirts, jeans, dresses, cozies, gloves and scarves but Kolby has also added bleached items. He wears a lot of them to work and they are truly awesome.
I love the added elements in each display. There are skulls, lightbulbs, rope, pearls, mannequin parts, crosses and even wood. These elements not only add to the over all effect of the display but also go along with the RAW feeling.
If you are interested in getting your hands on any of these pieces or have any questions for Kolby himself here's his website: Ragged-and-Wearable.Tumblr.com

I've been truly slacking in my posting and I humbly apologize!

But I have a lot to fill you all in on. Like the RAW launch party, a DIY item and more. So lets get started

Added about 6 inches on to my hair. Was surprised how easy they are to put in. Totally fun!

RAW Couture Fashion Line

RAW: Ragged And Wearable
My good friend and co-worker Kolby Keene is launching his amazing new clothing line RAW on October 1, 2011.
Kolby is not only a fashion stylist but now a fashion designer, business man and owner of his own company. I couldnt be prouder of him. I'll be attending his launch part this Friday (pictures to follow). "Super excited" doesn't come close to describe what I feel about getting an invite to this. I am thankful that I get to support not only my great friend but also an extremely brave and creative individual. He has worked excessively hard on this project and lost countless hours of sleep.

The serious issue on hand: I have no clue what to wear!

Today, my day off.

Here I am, sitting in the Starbucks in my block siphoning their free internet and I honestly had no clue where to start. There is so much I wanted to share with you all but I cant pin point where i want to start.
I guess I can start with today, my day off this week. I am getting extensions today. Let me say that again... I AM GETTING EXTENSIONS!!!! I am so super excited about this. They are mainly for Halloween (which ill post about later) but I feel like unless you have natural mermaid hair (down to the middle of your back or longer) then you should, at least once, in your life have some kind of hair extensions. It can transform any outfit or look in less then 20min, or however long it takes you to clip them in. I personally am picking clip in hair extension because one of my great friends, Welsy (who is an amazing hair stylist), said they are easier. I also dont want to be stuck with extensions in my hair when I only wanted them for one night or just to go to work. I like things that are versatile and dont pin me down to only one way.
At 2pm I'll being heading to Venus Wholesale Beauty Supply (A. I love the name B. I can only imagine what its going to be like inside) with my hair stylist in tow to make sure I pick out the right color for my hair and that I am not getting ripped off. Should be very interesting/fun. I love new experience like this. I feel if you dont go out and try new things, new places then you dont grow as a person. You're just stuck.
I'll post before and after photos of what my extensions look like later tonight hopefully.
If any of you have any helpful tips about maintaince and up-keep that you would like to share with a newbe to hair extensions feel more then free to leave a comment.
